Some people wait decades to meet their soul mate. Courtney Kaufman suspects she met hers in high school—only to lose him at seventeen. Since then, Courtney's social life has been a series of meaningless encounters, though she's made a few close friends along the way. Especially her roommate, Max Cooper, who oozes damaged bad-boy vibes from every pore. Max knows about feeling lost—he's been on his own since he was sixteen. Now it's time to find out if he can ever go home again, and Courtney's the only one he trusts to go with him. But the trip to Providence could change everything…. It started out so simple. One misfit helping another. Now Max will do anything to show Courtney that for every heart that's ever been broken, there's another that can make it complete.

{REVIEW}

The Shape of My Heart by Ann Aguirre is the third and final instalment in the 2B Trilogy, in her New Adult genre series. In similar fashion to the previous books I Want It That Way and As Long As You Love Me, I loved this one just the same in style, romance and character chemistry. Ann has really created a great foundation and stepping stone into the world of New Adult characters that are diverse and brilliantly written, with the third book focusing on Max and Courtney; who have appeared previously as background characters.

The friends to lover storyline could be said to be overdone, robust in the same story over and over again but what made it different in Courtney and Max’s tale was the roommates had personality traits that enhance and gratified the New Adult genre of romance to a different degree. Courtney; the female protagonist struggles to deal with her feelings after losing the love of her life at a young age, then moving forward as a bisexual, eventually falling into the hearts of readers and also for Max; her roommate and best friend.

The narrative was brilliant in it’s ability to be able to relate and the characters traits can be found in a little bit of all of us I’m sure. The chemistry between Max and Courtney was electric from beginning to end and after the barrel of bad news, a road trip to his hometown leads Courtney and Max discovering feelings, that would make or break them and everything they thought was true.

The book was remarkable with it’s diversity and emotionally charged moments. A highly recommended read, if you are looking for a friends turned more narrative. I would suggest reading the first books in the trilogy first, to have an understanding of the background couples but it is not necessary as it is a standalone. Brilliant end to the trilogy and the characters will forever be remembered for their diversity and heart in creating a great series.
