The Gentleman Mentor is the first book in a sexy and sizzling series by Kendall Ryan. And I admit I got suckered in from the get go. The cover, the blurb, the teasers all were like trickles of feeding a hungry child until they want the whole piece of candy or treat. From the very beginning the world immersed was something completely compelling and different to what I expected. To be honest, when I read it was a BDSM book about a female looking at expelling her desires to get the man she wants I thought it would be sex, sex and more sex. But I can slap myself on the wrist and admit I was wrong because it was more than possibly can be explained.
Brielle crushed hard on her best friend Kirby, desire foiled at every look she took at him since they met 5 years ago. Having been shot down at every turn in regards to Kirby, Brielle interest perks when she decides to hire a gentleman mentor to pave the way in desire and learn the ways of seduction in the hopes of leading to Kirby heart. Hale from the initial first email, notices a difference in formality to his usual clients with Brielle; intrigued and after a glance in the rabbit hole of trouble; he gives it six lessons to teach Brielle the art of seduction and pray to not get attached or lose control under her touch.
The passion of electricity with every moment within The Gentleman Mentor seeped through the lines of the pages, causing lust; love; complications and heart. As a battle royale of flooding chemistry and desire haunts passion as the count of lessons brings a sex kitten to the surface in Brielle the banter of sexy electricity binds a new flavour of Dom/Submissive in romance. The line is very much drawn with dangerous territory breaking the bounds of normal client forms; Brielle uncovers a side of Hale that’s frightening as the story works at the pool of desire explored within a relationship.
I absolutely loved The Gentleman Mentor, it’s off the charts in every way possible; with the kink of a breathless appeal of heated passion; the moments of chemistry and trust within the dynamic of Brielle and Hale made for a truly wonderful read that I finished in one-sitting. Truthfully, I didn’t really fondly look into the world of BDSM romances and appealing to the desire and needs until reading The Gentleman Mentor; as the perfection of the written characters and the dive of sexy and swoon moments within hooked me. I honestly can’t wait to read more of this series. (P.S This is a standalone in a series of interconnected character)

“It’s just us tonight,” I whisper, fighting the urge to kiss her mouth.
“Where are the ropes? The whips? The chains?”
“You want ropes?” I ask, my tone hollow. Maybe I can’t give her what she needs after all.
“I don’t understand,” she says softly.
This is too real, too intimate, and she knows it. Her questioning blue eyes see everything. All my motivations are stripped bare; I don’t need to say a word. She was expecting something crazy, but all she’s getting is me. I want to pretend she’s mine for one last night before I have to release her.
I cross the room and stand directly in front of her, pushing my hand inside her coat to place it firmly on her waist and drag her close.
