Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes it’s all you need.
Andi Stone is a strong, smart and independent woman, but that wasn’t always the case. Andi never knew what a “normal” life was like. Having been raised in foster care from the age of six after the death of her parents, Andi became emancipated at 16 after an especially horrible incident forced her into a psychiatric hospital.
Luke Woods, the family black sheep and street-brawler, is determined to be a successful professional boxer despite his family’s protests. He needs Andi’s help to get there. The wedge between him and his family over his past relationship issues and career choices is not easily overcome. Luke must learn to face his past mistakes and learn to trust again.
Fireworks and passions quickly ignite between Andi and Luke in the midst of the chaos that surrounds and threatens them. She never revealed the secrets and lies from her past, but when she publicly inherits her family fortune, the living, breathing past comes back to torment her and threatens all that she holds dear. Can their love for another survive the blows that their pasts continue to rain down on them?
REVIEW
If I’m honest, I find books need to speak to an audience. After reading ‘Crazy Maybe’ by A.D Justice, I am kind of speechless.
Characters like Andi, are why I read but also why I write. How do you describe a pivotal strong character that stands out? A.D Justice hit the hammer on the nail with the portrayal of such an emotionally charged and powerful narrative. Andi and Luke’s story reads more than just words on the page. It is powerful, the emotion is touching and the words are uncannily high-powered. The chord that struck me through reading Crazy Maybe was that there was fight and power in the story of how the foster system treats a person. Although I found some of the narrative to be unrealistic, it was relatable in its own kind.
What drew me to continue reading was the vigorous voice of the writer and the characters narrative. Andi and Luke both draw so much power in the narrative, of the will to fight, to be loved, to survive. Love takes it’s course and sometimes you don’t have control over that. I found that reading through, there were moments I would cry for Andi and there were moments between Andi, Luke and the other characters that made me laugh. My favourite part about reading this book was the faith and trust that Andi and Luke put in each other. It was heart felt, kind, supportive and a testament to good writing by A.D Justice. The sad scenes were written with emotion, but also contempt to allow the reader to understand cases that do happen similar to the narrative. Overall, a powerfully pivotal narrative that brings together a strong female character with an ever so romantic male lead with passion and heart. What is made is magic, what is spoken is raw and what is left is love.

ANDI
Our usual table is inhabited by the usual suspects – Shane, Will, Brandon and of course, Luke. He has his back to me and doesn’t know I’m here yet. So I walk to the DJ booth and tell him to queue up a song for me. I had a few drinks at the pub we just left, I’m pissed and I’m really fucking hurt, so I’m going to take it out on the stage. The song, Just A Fool, is actually a duet between Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, but tonight I’m singing it solo. And I’m singing it with every bit of emotion I have bubbling just below the surface of my cool façade.
The lyrics are perfect for me right now. I obviously feel like a fool because I can’t get over him and I can’t let him go, but I know I should. I feel like I’m weak for wanting him to make this all up to me. For even thinking I could forgive him if he would just do something to take this pain away. Love feels like a cruel joke and no one has hurt me in the way that he has. I just want to forget about love and about him, but somehow he’s in every thought I have and every move I make.
I leave the stage and a friend from the gym I haven’t seen in a while stops me and asks me to dance with him. Another slow song is playing so I step into his embrace and we take the opportunity to catch up. He asks how I’m holding up, knowing how bad my life sucks right now, and I give him a non-committal shrug of my shoulders. Christina taps on my arm and her gaze suddenly shifts and I turn to see what she’s looking at.
Oh. It’s Luke and he is charging forward like a bull, hell-bent on his destination. Which happens to be me at the moment.
“Andi,” he barks at me.
“Yes,” I reply smugly.
I watch intently as he grits his teeth and clenches and flexes his hands. His anger is barely contained and he’s working hard at restraining himself. I know I’m not helping it but I’m no more in the mood to be fucked with right now than he is.
“I need you to come with me,” he finally says.
“No.”
He nods his head, seemingly understandingly, until I realize that I read him completely wrong. He just decided he wasn’t going to argue with me. In the typical method of the men in my life, he picks me up with ease, throws me over his shoulder, and charges back to the front door. People watch with amused expressions as I scream obscenities at him like a lunatic until he reaches the door. Then I realize we’re going outside and there may be cameras that catch me actually acting like a lunatic so I stop.
“Luke – do not walk out that door with me over your shoulder. I’m in the news enough as it is. I don’t need to add any more to it,” I say in my sternest voice possible. This stops him in his tracks and I know he hears the words I didn’t say – thanks to your family.
He puts me down but doesn’t let go of me. “Then walk with me like a normal person would.”
I sigh heavily, not hiding my dislike of his demand, and respond with the typical pissed-off female response. “Fine.”

A.D. enjoys reading many different types of romance books – including drama and suspense, crime and mystery, NA and YA, and contemporary and erotica.
Today I am bringing you a really loveable and down to earth book review from one of my favourite series. Sugar Kisses is a new release by Addison Moore and the third book in the series.
Sugar Kisses—nothing tastes sweeter than revenge…
Roxy Capwell couldn’t be more miserable. She just had her heart stomped on by her cheating boyfriend, and the last thing she’s looking for is love. She hates men.
Cole Brighton couldn’t be happier. He’s a player of the highest order, there’s not a girl at Whitney Briggs University that he can’t tag and bag. He loves the ladies.
Roxy’s dream is to own and operate her own bakery one day, but with no oven in her dorm, and a lucrative baking competition on the horizon, she agrees to move in with her best friend’s brother, the obnoxious, womanizing, Cole Brighton.
Between the heavenly scent of baked goods, and Roxy’s perfect body strutting around the apartment, Cole can’t think straight. So when Roxy’s ex starts sniffing around again, Cole volunteers to play the part of her new boy-toy and things get heated both in and out of the kitchen.
Roxy discovers she might not hate every man on the planet, and Cole discovers nothing tastes better than Roxy and her late night SUGAR KISSES.
Roxy is ball of stress and anger.
Cole is all ego and sex.
Their attraction is unstoppable.
And when their bodies collide—its combustible.
I was sold at cupcakes. I am a huge fan of Addison Moore and was so excited for the third book in the 3:AM Kisses series. Sugar Kisses introduces Roxy and Cole Brighton narrative. We have known Cole from the very beginning and I was super excited to read a narrative of passion and a loveable sweetness.
“Shut Up and Kiss me” >Roxy to Cole – Sugar Kisses
The passion that ignites through Roxy and Cole’s narrative is like put gasoline to a fire, it explodes and the rippling feelings are felt everywhere. The spitfire of Roxy always having her guard up and Cole’s shall I say sex appeal makes it all the more enticing and loveable to read. Sugar Kisses brings warmth to the narrative of a tale of two roommates who realise their connection.
In the third book of series, this is possibly my favourite actually don’t get me wrong I love Baya and Bryson and they will always be amazing, but boy did Roxy and Cole create an epic tale of good romance. I loved the narrative, we still had the reappearance of Baya, Holt and some of the others from the earlier novels but I loved the connection that Roxy and Cole have. It’s more than a romance, it’s about fighting for love, fighting for yourself and not giving in.
The light heart of Sugar Kisses makes such a good read. The relationship’s created and developed are like glitter in a jar, all sparkly and soft. I love this one quote
“I had a mini orgasm just looking at you. I thought who the hell does this guy think he is looking so damn hot? You ruined me right then.” >Roxy to Cole- Sugar Kisses.
As a lover of baking cupcakes, this narrative was like putty in my hand. It is light hearted, emotional and just an astounding in the way it grips you to read. I rated Sugar Kisses at 5 Lit-Love because you had me at Cupcakes, you sold me at Cole.

Addison Moore is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who writes contemporary and paranormal romance. Previously she worked as a therapist on a locked psychiatric unit for nearly a decade. She resides on the West Coast with her husband, four wonderful children, and two dogs where she eats too much chocolate and stays up way too late. When she’s not writing, she’s reading.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” – Marianne Williamson
We live in a world of darkness and shadows, where monsters hide and aim to ruin. And they did. They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares. But now we’re back. And we’re fighting. Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.
The stars aligned when I began to read More Than Him. After so much anticipation for the third book in the series, and second book focused on Logan and her, I was ready to begin the journey in More Than Him. I could almost hear a drumroll when I opened to see that very first page. More Than Him blew a ball out of the park, with its ambitious storyline, gripping character personalities and the return of the love between Amanda and Logan.
After the second book in the series literally tore me to be in a ball on my bed crying by the cliffhanger, I was all to ready to jump in with love. The road to happily ever after is never easy. I enjoyed Amanda how the beginning traced what life is like after someone walks away from love without even an answer. Through the tracing of the narrative I fell in love with the characters from the first two books all over again. Especially Drunk Lucy! The passion that ignites not only between Logan and Amanda but also through the other characters make it such an enchanting book. I had my moments when I did want to yell at Heidi in particular and Logan too. The moments within the book that really made my heart race and fall further in love with a character, or change your perspective on a character were what made this such an exquisite read.
The portrayal of the aftermath of the incident that occurred in More Than Her was done beautifully. It is a hugely remarkable thing to portray characters that go through heartbreak and deal with topics of rape and violence. It is so important to describe precisely, yet the portrayal within More Than Him does both the characters justice with dealing with the issues and lets the reader have insight into a bit of background of PTSD and the emotional effect of traumatic events. Jay has done an amazing job in this book, she has a heart of gold that when ever I read anything from her, makes me want to jump up and down.
Overall, I absolutely loved More Than Him, it showed class, power and love in such a beautiful tale of finding yourself, fighting for the love you believe in and having the support of your friends around you. I rated More Than Him as 5++++++ because it truly is an amazing story to read. I am overly excited for the next few projects of Jay McLeans. Lucy and Cameron’s story is coming, as well a standalone book separate from the More Series called The Road, which will be out on the 8th April 2014.

Excerpt
I walked inside and placed my keys on the bar top, and a few minutes later, Finnley entered.
I leaned against the kitchen counter and smiled.
“You shouldn’t f*ck me with your eyes. I’ve already warned you about that.”
“I’m pretty sure I can do whatever I want.” I walked towards him, unbuttoned his suit jacket, and loosened his tie. “You’re not the boss of me anymore.”
He wrapped my hair around his fingers and tugged my head back to look into his eyes. “I will always be the boss of you, Ms. Downs.”
I loved it when he called me that. I loved it when he was rough. Lust and love mixed and created a crazy potion of emotions.
Finn’s lips collided with mine, and the intensity of him forced me to unbutton his pants and scoot them off his hips; then he yanked my hair just a little harder.
“I’m not your dildo, Ms. Downs. I’ve got an appointment at the office in the next thirty minutes. Shouldn’t take long. Meet me there in an hour?”
“I cannot believe you’re denying me.”
“You’ll learn that I do whoever and whatever I want, whenever I want.”
I crossed my arms and gave him my best ‘go to hell’ look. What a tease. He buttoned and zipped his pants and then looked at me with a raised eyebrow and pulled me into him.
He nibbled on my earlobe, and then whispered, “will you ever stop driving me crazy?”
I pulled away from him, looked at his mouth, and then into his green eyes.
“Not happening, ever.”

About the Author
Words make the world go round. I love to write, travel, and sing really loud at the top of my lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make me gush. I am firm believer that a person can never have too many cats or cups of coffee, and that the F word is necessary.
Forget the beach! Give me a gel pen, a stack of blank paper, and beautiful mountains!
Today’s book review is a great new release by Michelle Lynn and Nevaeh Lee.
Synopsis:
This is not your typical rock star romance. For one, the “rock star” is a rapper. And not just any rapper. Trace is the hottest ticket in the music industry right now, regardless of which definition of ‘hot’ you choose.
Taryn Starr is not the girl-next-door who unknowingly meets a celebrity. Known as “America’s Sweetheart,” the reigning country music princess and world-renowned superstar knows exactly who Trace is…or does she?
Their worlds collide when the musicians whose paths were never destined to cross are forced by their joint record label to collaborate on a song. The sparks fly and ignite a fire that blazes hotter with every minute they spend together—for better or worse. One thing’s for certain, the two media magnets can’t deny their explosive chemistry, but will life in the spotlight ultimately bring Trace and Taryn together or force them apart?
***This contemporary romance new adult novel is for mature audiences. The language alone would make a sailor blush (the guy’s a rapper, remember?) so 18+ only, please.
Review:
What you have when you add Michelle Lynn and Nevaeh Lee together, the perfect collaboration. Collaboration is a new release that is about two musicians from two separate life, who come together for one life changing collaboration.
I love books that incorporate lyrics and music into the narrative. The narrative extends a love of music to the characters of Trace and Taryn. The two main characters immediately have amazing chemistry with their romance beginning by communication. I loved this book, because communication and the values each of the characters have created value to what the narrative explored.
What may seen as money-making by the record label, turns into passion, pressure and what the truth is when Trace and Taryn challenge the rights and wrongs of the music industry. I loved the use of the music industry as a point to say not everything you read and see is valid. We always hear news stories about this star doing this or being caught doing this, and the portrayal throughout the narrative gives us insight as a reader to how things can be manipulated and changed. With one key to her heart, I loved Taryn and Trace’s lyrics not only spoke to how they are feeling about each other, but it told a story to the audience reading it.
Taryn has her widths drawn beyond her capabilities by an overbearing mother and Trace only has family within his band, but with Taryn and Trace’s connection, notes to a song are put together with passion. A collaboration as powerful and special as Taryn and Trace’s made this a great book to pick up and enjoy. Don’t get me wrong there was one point, where I almost could have thrown my iPad out the window, but rest assure through all good collaboration there are ups and downs.
Overall, I loved the music, lyrics and narrative that Michelle Lynn and Nevaeh Lee created. With a story portraying the power of two singers combining and the passion of a story within the lyrics. I truly loved this book and have rated it a 5/5.
A book I loved whilst I was on vacation was Come to Me Quietly by A.L. Jackson. Here is my review and synopsis of the book.
Synopsis:
Aleena Moore is content with her life. She has goals and dreams and an easy smile. She also has a secret she holds locked inside.
Jared Holt believes he doesn’t deserve to love or be loved. He destroys everything he touches. Haunted by the mistake that shattered his life, he’s fled from the memory of that pain.
Jared doesn’t know why he’s compelled to return, but finds himself drawn back to the place where it all began. The exact place where it ended. When he runs into his childhood best friend, Aleena’s older brother Christopher, he agrees to share Christopher and Aleena’s apartment while he looks for a place of his own.
Aleena is no longer the little girl Jared remembers from his past and evokes feelings in him he never wanted to feel again. Terrified of destroying her, he fights to keep her away. But her touch is something he can’t resist—the touch that sealed his fate.
Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.
Review:
Come to Me Quietly brought me to tears but also happiness glistened throughout. I am a soft romantic. I admit it. I deal with it. Don’t judge. I absolutely loved Aleena and Jared’s chemistry. It set butterflies to my stomach. A story that brings together loss, grief, love and forgiveness. I absolutely loved it. This is the first time I had ever read one of A.L. Jackson’s book and I definitely will continue reading.
The connection between Jared and Aly is uncanny. I have read numerous narratives about a best friend falling for the friends sister, this is one by far that is truly amazing. One of the most passionate narratives. I did a lot of thinking about judgement and how perception and how we are viewed effects us. I think the narrative the A.L. Jackson has created brings forward exactly those notions. The narrative touched me because of the connection between Aly and Jared. It seemingly wasn’t just the girl falls for the guy narrative. It touched on the pure and honest connection of being there for someone.
The issue’s that were presented in this narrative, showed so much courage. Forgiveness and self-forgiveness is one thing, I don’t hear a lot about it books, but it was really special to see it in Come to Me Quietly.
This book definitely did put me through a rollercoaster and spat me out at the end feeling like I had been emotionally shaken, I really enjoyed this book and I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, because there are parts were a little slow. I am excited for the second novel to be released and to read another one of A.L. Jackson’s books.
As today is Australia Day, I thought I would share with you some of the amazingly talented Australian Authors that you may or may not have heard off that live in the land down under.
G.J Walker Smith – the talents of fairies, wishes and shells come to life in the enchanting Wishes series. G.J Walker-Smith is a best selling Australian Author of Saving Wishes, Second Hearts and Storm Shells. With a passion for the romantic tales and stories within her novels. I am equip to say that she does a magnificent job at bringing characters to life and sharing stories of the imagination.
Jay McLean – Romance, tears, heartbreak, and a lot of flavour in the characters. I absolutely love Jay McLean for ability to give the characters such versatile attributes. With More Than Him coming out in only a few days, Jay has done a tremendous job at showing characters with depth and emotion.
Kylie Scott - A romance, a friendship and a night that one can remember. I absolutely adore Lick by Kylie Scott. It was one of my top reads of 2013. With passion, a voice and some chemistry. The power of creating memories and being who you are. As an Australian author, I get giddy when I read books that are full of so much passion.
Kate McCarthy – Words somewhat fail me when describing Kate’s writing. Fighting Redemption is a standout writing piece that shows a different narrative, that I haven’t seen from any other Australian author. It was the first book, I ever read about a solider going off to war, and it was also the first book that told the story from an Australian author. I praise Kate for this book because it is a truly remarkable book.
T Gephart – I get all giddy and happy whenever I read T Gephart’s books. I have honestly read A Twist of Fate that many times, I could probably memorize it. T Gephart is another phenomenal Australian writer, was words and narrative make me laugh, cry and smile. What I love about A Twist of Fate, is that characters are developed in a way, that I can reread it so many times. It is a terrific read if you love a romantic story with a twist of fate.
Cathryn Hein- I am in love with country stories, probably because I am a small town girl at heart. So, its no surprise that I love Cathryn Hein. Her books explore character depth in rural country towns, bring romance and narrative into love stories. I love Heartland, a truly passionate moving story about a inherited land, a ex-solider and a fractured heart.
I hope you enjoyed my Celebrate Australia Day with Australian Authors. I definitely recommend reading all of the above books. They make you laugh, cry, go aww and laugh.
