If you see a girl aimlessly walking around, not sure what to do it’s probably me, because WOW Consolation by Corinne Michaels sent me on a collision course with my emotions and breathtakingly conveying characters that left me in awe. My mind trickles of every detail of Consolation, it wonders the grapevine of purity and love, struggle and healing, heart and steam. The borders of my heart are all locked away until Conviction, book 2; as I realise that from the very beginning these characters had my heart.
A voice of heart, a wickedly OH.MY. GOD Cliffhanger and no words for numerous days is the only way to describe Consolation. Consolation is a story about forging on after devastation; as Natalie the female protagonist in the dual POV narrative (seen very slightly in Belonging Duet series) finds her way. After being left destroyed by her husbands death, an unlikely hero allies to town to help out. Liam; her husbands best friend, persuades bounds of strength to break the walls of Natalie’s shell to bring her out of the comfort zone and discover herself again.
The depth of feelings and a bond of evolving love breaks the constrictions of right & wrong and whether Liam can ever win Natalie’s heart in breathtaking ways. Corinne once again made me gulp and reach for the tissues in the best possible way with the unexpected twists, the undying passion and the sweet heart of two hurt souls colliding. Consolation is the first book in the series and upholds greatness in purity form of heart. A beautiful narrative about finding your second chance, and whilst many words were cursed at my kindle and my pillow was tearstained beyond belief, the sassy heart of Natalie and the big hearted hunk of Liam made every second worth it. I definitely highly recommend reading as it sucks you in and leaves you breathless in shatters with heart at the end, an amazing 4.5/5 Stars!

I lift my head and press my lips against his. His hand cradles my cheek and he holds me as we kiss. I grab his neck and feel the weightlessness from letting a little part of myself go. He kisses me adoringly and cautiously, allowing me to lead but still commanding me. I lose myself a little more as I moan when his hand presses against the small of my back.
“Let go,” he says against my mouth. “Let me take it for you.”
Before I can say anything, his mouth is on mine again. Our tongues thrash against each other as the kiss becomes hungry. He pulls me close so there’s no space between us. The low sound resonates through his chest, sending shivers down my spine. It’s sexy, and before I know it, my hands are traveling to his chest. I pull his shirt out and my fingers trail up his chest. I want to feel his skin.
Liam breaks the kiss. “Natalie,” my name is both a plea and a request.
“Shhh,” I instruct him as I unbutton his shirt. “I want to feel your heart.”
My hands glide up and he trembles beneath my touch. We stand here with my fingers resting on his chest, feeling his heart beat beneath me. He’s alive and here with me. His hands stay at his sides as he once again lets me decide where I’m going with this.
“I want to touch you so bad,” he admits and his hand lifts then drops. “I’m fighting every muscle in my body right now.”
“Stop fighting,” I say without thinking.
