Like a breath of a cool breeze on a smoking hot day Checkmate: This Is Reckless by Kennedy Fox captured my heart and soul in part one of the next duet in the Checkmate series. A tale of two best friends and roommates crossing the boundaries of a line that was carved in stone yet whispered in every step of ones thoughts through the years. Kennedy Fox take us on a mouth-watering oven hot filled sensual and romantic ride that in every single scene I felt the characters emotions flow with perfection and the writing was beyond perfect.

Drew and Courtney originally meet through Drew’s sister Viola and they have been roommates and best friends for a few years purely. Just Friends. One drunken night changes everything and although Drew’s got his fair share of girl issues and Courtney has had a crush on Drew she kept secret from him, the one night changes everything. Obstacles naturally come into the story as ex-girlfriends and feelings play a dangerous war on the characters emotions and personally it was beyond a shadow of doubt one of the most organically progressive romances I have seen in a book.

I can honestly say I was a pawn in the game in Checkmate: This is Reckless, I invested my heart and soul into these characters as much as I did in the first duet of the series and it truly did break me and leave me shouting explicits when I got to the very end. Drew and Courtney’s story from the very start is one that I thought I would fall head over heels for and I 100% was right. These two just captured my heart in every interaction and the banter between them left me in giggles, swooning and my heart beating with love. The undeniable sexiness of Drew and the muffing baking fierceness of Courtney made me 100% Team Drewtney! You couldn’t ask for more of a perfect romance than these two and I can’t wait for the next book Checkmate: This is Effortless where we find out what happens next in the story of Drew and Courtney. I can’t recommend picking up this book and the first duet high enough, you won’t regret it; trust me!
