“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” – Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we’re back.
And we’re fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.

The stars aligned when I began to read More Than Him. After so much anticipation for the third book in the series, and second book focused on Logan and her, I was ready to begin the journey in More Than Him. I could almost hear a drumroll when I opened to see that very first page. More Than Him blew a ball out of the park, with its ambitious storyline, gripping character personalities and the return of the love between Amanda and Logan.
After the second book in the series literally tore me to be in a ball on my bed crying by the cliffhanger, I was all to ready to jump in with love. The road to happily ever after is never easy. I enjoyed Amanda how the beginning traced what life is like after someone walks away from love without even an answer. Through the tracing of the narrative I fell in love with the characters from the first two books all over again. Especially Drunk Lucy! The passion that ignites not only between Logan and Amanda but also through the other characters make it such an enchanting book. I had my moments when I did want to yell at Heidi in particular and Logan too. The moments within the book that really made my heart race and fall further in love with a character, or change your perspective on a character were what made this such an exquisite read.
The portrayal of the aftermath of the incident that occurred in More Than Her was done beautifully. It is a hugely remarkable thing to portray characters that go through heartbreak and deal with topics of rape and violence. It is so important to describe precisely, yet the portrayal within More Than Him does both the characters justice with dealing with the issues and lets the reader have insight into a bit of background of PTSD and the emotional effect of traumatic events.  Jay has done an amazing job in this book, she has a heart of gold that when ever I read anything from her, makes me want to jump up and down.
Overall, I absolutely loved More Than Him, it showed class, power and love in such a beautiful tale of finding yourself, fighting for the love you believe in and having the support of your friends around you. I rated More Than Him as 5++++++ because it truly is an amazing story to read.  I am overly excited for the next few projects of Jay McLeans. Lucy and Cameron’s story is coming, as well a standalone book separate from the More Series called The Road, which will be out on the 8th April 2014.

Author of Mature YA / New Adult contemporary novels, MORE THAN THIS, MORE THAN HER, and MORE THAN HIM. I enjoy reading and writing books that make people laugh, cry and swoon for dreamy book boyfriends. When not doing either of those, I can be found looking after my two little boys, and trying to avoid house work at all costs.
